There are many directory services available on the Internet such as Yahoo.
Also many people and organizations are providing useful lists on the Internet.
Now you can import them into your own database.
The BookMark Manager imports bookmarks (URL addresses) from a variety
of html sources. It imports a bookmark's title, url address even its descriptions
keeping the original hierarchical structure of the Hot List.

Hey all, Lookey there! An nslookup for the mac. I have not yet seen one around
and I got tired of waiting, so I wrote one. So here ya go. This program can be
used to lookup IP addresses, CNAMEs, HINFOs, AXFRSs, etc. with detailed
output in the style of the UN*X program: nslookup
Most importantly, it's freeware!

Vremya 1.61 - an application that sets your Macintosh clock using
version 1 of the Network Time Protocol as described in RFC 1059 by D.
Mills. This is a simple implementation of NTP, but the accuracy is
sufficient for the Macintosh clock. If you just want to set your
Macintosh clock occasionally and quickly and you don't want Control
Panels and Extensions, Vremya is the solution for you. Vremya requires
MacTCP. Vremya has been seen working under Open Transport. You should
also have your geographical location set using the Map control panel and
the Daylight Saving Time checkbox checked or unchecked to reflect your
current state.
YA-Newswatcher
Yet Another NewsWatcher is a Usenet news reader application for the
Macintosh. Its features include automatic viewing of downloaded
images, binary and anonymous remailer posting, flexible article
filtering (kill files) and sorting, support for PGP via AppleScript,
reference-based threading, and comprehensive multiple character set
support for reading and posting in non-English language and non-latin
alphabet newsgroups.
